Slow Frames

Notes

Morning fog and a stubborn light meter

October

Fog flattens everything, and the meter happily reports that the scene is brighter than it looks. I bracketed one stop over on every frame and kept the overexposed ones. Fog wants more light than you think.

Stand development, second attempt

September

One hour, very dilute developer, a single gentle inversion at the halfway mark. The highlights stayed soft this time and the bromide drag along the sprocket holes is gone. Patience did more than any new chemistry.

Twelve frames along the river

August

A self-imposed rule: one roll of twelve, one walk, no second chances. Half of the frames are forgettable, three are good, and one is the reason I keep doing this.
